Stanley Kubrick

Stanley Kubrick was born in 1928 and died in 1999.
He was an American Filmaker, Screenwriter, producer and Photographer.
When making films he worked to his own timetable and was not under anyone elses control to get a film completed, other than when he was ready. His films were creative, controversial and highly acclaimed. He portrayed expressionism and surrealism.

Some of his films include: The Shining, Lolita, A Space Odyssy, A:I, Eyes Wide Shut,

His love of photography was started when his father bought him a camera as a child. He went on to do courses in Photogra[hy and then decided to start out as a freelance photographer.. He ended up selling some photos to Look magazine in 1946; he then became an apprentice for Look Magazine. It was whilst working for Lookthat he ended up working on films in Museums and finally into film.

I have decided to work on the photography side of his career as I found the making of film clips a very difficult process.
I decided to recreate some of Stanley Kubricks early images for Look Magazine created in the late 1940's.

Below are the images by Stanley Kubrick and underneath each are the contemporary images I have recreated using photography and Corel Paint shop Pro.
